With the SelfLab FCV Ag test you can check for yourself if your cat is infected with the calicivirus.

Typical symptoms of acute feline calicivirus:

  • fever
  • conjunctivitis
  • nasal discharge
  • sneezing
  • lameness
  • mouth ulceration
  • may develop pneumonia in case of bacterial infection

Set contains:

  • a pair of single use gloves
  • test pouch with test cassette and pipette inside
  • sterile cotton swab
  • tube with assay buffer
  • instruction of use

How to perform FCV Ag test?

Take care of your safety!

Put on the gloves.
Every sample may be a potentially contagious material.

Use the cotton swab and mix the sample

Using the swab take a sample of feces.
Insert the swab into the assay buffer tube and mix it until it is dissolved.

Prepare the cassette

Remove the test cassette from the sealed pouch and place it on the flat surface.

Add the sample

Using the pipette take a solution from above the sediment.
Apply 3-4 drops of the prepared solution to the sample well “S”.

Wait for the results

Wait 5-10 minutes for the results.

Interpretation of the results

Positive result: two colored lines will appear - in the test line zone and control line zone.
Negative result: only one colored line will appear in the control line zone.
Invalid result: the colored line does not appear in the control line zone.
Results
